Purpose

A Weighbridge Operator is a crucial figure in operations and logistics, responsible for accurately recording and managing the weights of incoming and outgoing vehicles.

‍Responsibilities

• To facilitate the requirements of Site Operations and the Transport Department.
• To ensure accurate recording of vehicle weighing.
• To ensure customer satisfaction.

‍Main Duties / Key Tasks

• Use of weighbridge equipment,
• Use of site CCTV,
• Weighing lorries on arrival and leaving site,
• Entering the incoming and outgoing weights on to the system,
• Manage vehicle booking sheets,
• Enter all incoming and outgoing materials onto database,
• Checking and logging drivers’ details as they come in and out of the site,
• Filling in inspection sheets,
• Booking other site visitors in and out,
• Updating records on computer systems,
• Answering phone enquiries,
• Dealing with other administrative tasks.

Desired Skills

• Personnel management and communication skills,
• Willingness to learn and adapt to changes,
• Accuracy is key for this role,
• Excellent Customer Services and the ability to work in a busy team is essential.

Qualifications

• Recycling / waste industry experience, (desired, but not imperative).
• Computer skills within Microsoft Office and data entry accuracy,
• Relevant experience of operating a weighbridge.

Salary

circa £25K depending on experience
