Following a recent recertification by UKAS accredited Certification Body NQA, TWM are delighted to have once again been reawarded their ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 Certification for Quality Management, Environmental Management and Occupational Health and Safety.
These certifications demonstrate that our processes, conditions and services continue to meet global business standards in the areas of Quality Management, Environmental Management and Occupational Health and Safety as well as reducing our business risks.
Re-certification to ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management enables us as an organisation to better understand the ever-evolving needs of our customers and enables us to more swiftly adapt to their changing requirements. This includes more quickly identifying and mitigating against potential operational risks which might lead to unwanted operational and service inefficiencies.
ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management is the backbone of our strategic drive to work towards meeting our Scope 1 and 2 Net Zero objectives helping us to continually reduce our environmental impact by improving operational and resource efficiencies. Certification to the 14001 Standard also helps to drive our sustainability agenda by ensuring that business decisions continue to demonstrate commitment to the wider environmental sustainability business goals.
The waste management sector has some of the worst health and safety statistics for workplace injuries and fatalities within the UK[1]; given that we view our employees as our primary resource it is imperative that we have processes in place to manage occupational health and safety and continue to comply with our statutory responsibilities. Certification to ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety helps us to reduce workplace injuries, illnesses and incidents. It demonstrates to everyone within our business, our customers and the regulators, that we are committed to improving the wellbeing of our employees, creating a healthier and safer workplace.
As an organisation we are incredibly pleased to have been successfully recertified to these ISO Standards. However, this is only one small part of the wider piece as the root to ISO certification is the demonstration of continual improvement and now is not the time to be complacent.
